Qualified CALIFORNIA Construction Stormwater Inspector (QCCSI) – ONLINE COURSE

The American Stormwater Institute has developed a class that explores the California Construction General Permit because this permit is so different from other state construction permits.

Students will learn the basics of erosion, sediment control, hydrology and how these topics directly influence inspections at California construction sites. Students will receive an in-depth introduction to the California construction general permit. During this discussion, you will be introduced to inspection and evaluation methods and techniques designed to make inspections better and more efficient thereby ensuring compliance with permit requirements.

The final component of the course will be a detailed discussion of Best Management Practices (BMPs) – what works, what doesn’t work, and what to do if something fails. We will review both structural and non-structural BMPs. We will discuss LID and Green Infrastructure techniques, and how these may be incorporated into CGP permit compliance.

This one-day online course is designed for all California construction site personnel that deal with or may impact stormwater discharge quality including stormwater inspectors, building inspectors, SWPPP developers, site managers, engineering review staff, administrative personnel, environmental staff, water quality staff, road workers, maintenance staff, and contract staff such as equipment operations, concrete workers, framers, masons, painters, drywall crews and other construction personnel.

You will receive a certification valid for three years with successful completion of this course.  CEU’s or PDH’s are issued with your certificate.

Note:  This course does not provide the CA Water Board’s required QSP or QSD certification.
